Darcy's Talk with Dad
When Mr. Wills asks if Jamee ran away because of him, Darcy tells him, "It might be that." When she sees that her reply has hurt him, she goes on and tells him more. She was finding "comfort in his obvious misery." Do you think Darcy is cruel to make her father suffer? Do you think she is doing the right thing? Explain. (Student ID)

What Darcy said to her father wasn't the right thing however she was angry,desperate,and concern about her sister.
ReplyDeleteIt's common to blame other for whatever is going wrong in your life or your family's especially when you feel hurt for this person for some reason that happened in real life every days .(996864)
In my opinion she's doing the right thing because her father has caused a deep pain inside Jamee's heart about his leaving, and now is the time where he has to recognize his bad decisions.

J.R.M.L. I think Darcy is not doing the right thing because Dad is only one part that cause Jamee runs away. Darcy feels a lot of anger against her Dad,that she has kept during this past 5 years.She feels is time to speak out all the rancor to his father.
ReplyDeleteI think she just tries to get out what she is feeling in that moment, because he left his family for five years and she tries to her father get remorse for the pain that he caused to his family and it is right what she did ,because that kind of strategy and she will be free of bad feeling.

I think Darcy is not cruel by saying that Jamee runs away because of dad. She just says what she thinks. Darcy knows that Jamee has been suffering about dad's left, and the reappearing of her dad make Jamee runs away.

I'm going to say that Darcy was a little hard on her father ,but he deserved some of the pain he was felling. He left them ,that pain could not be taken away with anything dad said. She was doing the right thing in my opinion. She had to gets all out ,and tell him what she felt about him.(997194)
ReplyDeleteI felt that Darcy did a good job letting her emotion out. It helps her move on in her life, but it she had kept her felling. she whould have been miserable
ReplyDeleteThis part of the actual book is my favorite because I think that if I would be at that position I would do the same too.This chapter taughs me that when I have a problem I should open my soul and let it out.
